What is a one-way keg?

A one-way keg is a single-use, fully recyclable 1/6 barrel keg with a standard Sankey D coupler. After it's emptied, the keg recycles at the venue — no deposit, no return shipping, and no swap logistics required.

Are PourZero one-way kegs recyclable?

Yes. Bodies are recyclable PET or composite plastic, and the metal Sankey D fittings can be separated for metal recycling. They're designed for venues, weddings, offices, and event spaces where reverse logistics aren't practical.

When should I use a one-way keg vs a returnable keg?

Use one-way for events, weddings, pop-ups, remote venues, and any location without a reliable return route. Use returnable (stainless) kegs for recurring local accounts in PourZero's Indiana swap program where the lower per-keg cost outweighs the return logistics.

Do one-way kegs pour the same as stainless kegs?

Yes. Same 1/6 barrel volume (~5 gal / ~20 L), same Sankey D coupler, same 36–40°F serving temperature, and the same CO₂ or nitro gas setup. There's no difference at the tap.
