Professional bar draft system with multiple tap handles for non-alcoholic kegs
    Equipment & Setup

If you can pour beer, you can pour PourZero

Here's what you need and how to get great pours from day one.

    Keg Format

All standard PourZero business kegs are:

    Format1/6 barrel (5 gal / ~20 L)
    CouplerSankey D (std U.S.)
    Servings~40-45 per keg

Using Cornelius (corny) ball lock? We can include a Sankey to Ball Lock Keg Coupler Adapter with your order.

If your system already pours from 1/6 barrel beer or cold brew kegs with a Sankey D coupler, you're basically ready.

What You Need To Pour PourZero

Most bars, cafes, offices, and venues already have this:

Draft cooler or kegerator that can hold 1/6 barrel kegs
Sankey D coupler (standard U.S. beer coupler)
Gas (CO₂, nitrogen, or blend, depending on product)
Tap faucet (standard beer or cold brew faucet)

Not sure what you have? Send us a photo of your setup and we'll confirm compatibility before your first order.

    Setup Basics (Step-By-Step)

    1

    Chill the Keg

    • Store kegs cold (ideally 36-40°F / 2-4°C) before tapping.
    • Let kegs settle after transport to reduce foaming.
    2

    Connect the Coupler

    • Attach your Sankey D coupler to the keg valve.
    • Lock it in place per your system's normal procedure.
    3

    Set Gas Pressure

    • Start with the same pressure you use for similar beer or cold brew lines.
    • We'll provide recommended starting pressures by product type with your first order.
    4

    Pull a Test Pour

    • Pour off the first ounce or two to clear the line.
    • Check clarity, carbonation, and flow. Adjust pressure as needed.
    5

Dial In Pour Size & Glassware

    • Most partners serve 8-16 oz pours, depending on concept.
    • Use proper glassware (pint, stem, rocks) to make it feel like a “real” drink.

    Common Compatibility Questions

Q: I only pour cold brew or kombucha. Will this work?

A: Yes. If you can pour those from 1/6 barrels with a Sankey D, you can pour our NA kegs. We'll recommend gas and pressure settings per product.

Q: I don't know if my coupler is Sankey D.

A: Send us a photo of your coupler and keg well, and we'll confirm. Most U.S. draft systems use Sankey D by default.

Q: Can I mix alcoholic and non-alcoholic lines on the same system?

A: Yes, as long as you clearly label handles and keep lines cleaned on a normal schedule.

    Serving & Quality Tips

    To keep pours consistent:

    1

Keep kegs and lines cold and at steady temperature

    2

Clean lines on your normal schedule (or better)

    3

Don’t crank pressure way up to “fix” foaming – fix temp and line issues first

    4

Train staff on a simple script so they know what's on that NA tap

If a keg isn't pouring right, we'd rather you email us than fight with it.

    Quick answers

    NA Keg Equipment, Explained

What is a 1/6 BBL Sankey D keg?

A 1/6 barrel (sixth barrel) keg holds about 5.16 US gallons (~20 L) and uses a Sankey D coupler — the U.S. standard coupler for most domestic beer and cold brew. PourZero's non-alcoholic kegs ship in this format so they drop straight into existing bar, cafe, brewery, office, and kegerator draft systems with no special hardware.

Do NA kegs work with my existing beer tap system?

Yes. If your system pours beer or cold brew from 1/6 barrels with a Sankey D coupler at 36–40°F using CO₂ or nitrogen, our NA kegs run on the same lines, the same coupler, and the same gas. No new hardware required.

What's the difference between Sankey D and Cornelius (ball/pin lock) kegs?

Sankey D is the U.S. commercial standard — single coupler that handles gas in and liquid out. Cornelius (Corny) kegs use separate ball-lock or pin-lock posts and are common in homebrew kegerators. PourZero ships Sankey D; Corny setups can use a Sankey-to-ball-lock adapter to pour the same keg.

How long does a tapped NA keg last?

Sealed and refrigerated, NA kegs hold quality for 1–6 months depending on the product. Once tapped, plan to serve within 7–14 days for best flavor and carbonation in typical bar, cafe, and office conditions.
